Table Mountain Casino Invitational thrills sell-out audience

FRESNO, Calif. (February 11, 2005) The Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) Table Mountain Casino Invitational, ninth stop on the Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS), rocked a sell-out Save Mart Center crowd on Friday night. As the top qualifier to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, 1998 PBR World Champion Troy Dunn of Queensland, Australia, delivered the win with his characteristic legendary style. Dunn's convincing 90.5 point score aboard Don Kish Bucking Bulls' Cash not only earned him the event title, but also the Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus, and total event earnings of $76,403. The Table Mountain Casino Invitational featured the top 45 bull riders in the industry vying for the ultimate crown – the million dollar PBR Built Ford Tough World Championship. The Table Mountain Casino Invitational will air on NBC on Saturday, February 12 at 5:00 p.m. (EST). The 31-city PBR tour packs a double punch this weekend, traveling from Fresno on Friday to Anaheim's Arrowhead Pond on Saturday, February 12 and Sunday, February 13.

Dunn earned top honors during preliminary round action in Fresno after twisting Cordell and Loudamy's Jack Daniel's Silver Select for 88.5 points. In the driver's seat at the onset of the Fresno finals, Dunn was the fifteenth man to compete and consequently witnessed six bull riders ahead of him achieve solid scores as one by one the leader board changed. Explained Dunn of his fateful reunion with Don Kish Bucking Bulls' Cash, "I had drawn him one other time, at the PBR World Finals in 2000 I believe, but he fell down. So this was really the first legitimate shot I had at him." Added Dunn, "Cash had a really good trip and this definitely improves my confidence. I have been focusing heavily on my fitness routine and it's paying off." Dunn became the eighth man to cover two bulls and his aggregate score of 179 points sealed the championship by a one and one half point margin over runner up, Gerardo Venegas of Juarez, Mexico.

Dunn, 37, is undeniably a seasoned bull riding veteran, with PBR career earnings totaling an impressive $1,229,961. Dunn is deeply committed to the development of an organization called Bull Riding Australia, his country's equivalent to the PBR, and also spends time promoting and producing bull riding events when in Australia.

Despite his absence from the Fresno contestant roster due to injuries sustained during last weekend's BFTS event held in Tampa, Fla., Justin McBride (Elk City, Okla.) retains his lead in the BFTS point standings with 3,042.5 BFTS points. Fellow Oklahoman Jody Newberry of Ada is lurks a close second with 2,427.5 points. McBride has chalked up an impressive five top five BFTS finishes to date in 2005 and has season earnings totaling $82,313 and PBR career earnings of $1,387,930.

High Tide, owned by Paradise Farms Rodeo Genetics, captured top bull honors of the event. Finishing in the runner-up position for top bull honors was Julio Moreno Bucking Bulls' Werewolf Snuff.

BEHIND THE CHUTES:

Enterprise Ride with the Best Bonus: As the Atlanta Classic event champion in Atlanta, Ga. on February 5, Jake McIntyre (Zolfo Springs, Fla.) was eligible to compete for the Enterprise Ride with the Best bonus money in Fresno. McIntyre was unsuccessful in his attempt to cover his first go round draw and consequently did not earn the $5,000 bonus reward.

Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus: Troy Dunn (Queensland, Australia) led the event going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on his way to successfully winning the over-all event title. Consequently, Dunn captured the lucrative Ford Truck Moment of Truth bonus reward worth $35,000. When the Built Ford Tough Moment of Truth Bonus is claimed the purse returns to $5,000.

Bud Light Short Go Top Qualifiers Bonus: Troy Dunn (Queensland, Australia) was awarded the Bud Light Short Go Top Qualifier award of $2,500 since he advanced to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round in the top spot and participates in the program by wearing the Bud Light patch.
